Food Web Interactions

Quantifying who eats whom in fisheries ecosystems is important to understand  the spatial and temporal variability in species interactions.  It also provides information about species that are not otherwise sampled using other methods.  A number of projects are investigating food web interactions with the goal of providing new information about species’ roles as predators and prey:

  • Quantitative food web modeling of changes in species interactions within the northeast coast of Newfoundland and Labrador fishery ecosystem (led by Kyle Krumsick)

  • Comparative diet analyses of four co-occurring gadoid species in southern Newfoundland waters (led by Hilary Rockwood)
